Horse Barn Construction at Canterbury Park
Three new and improved fabric covered barns
The Canterbury Park Barn Redevelopment & Backside Improvements project is a landmark investment in Minnesota’s horse racing industry. Celebrating 30 years of live racing, Canterbury Park partnered with Greystone to construct three state-of-the-art horse barns, modern trainer facilities, a new stable gate entrance, and improved roadways, while replacing outdated structures. Greystone’s Fabric Building and Facility Solutions divisions showcased exceptional self-perform capabilities. In collaboration with ISG, Bolton & Menk, and the City of Shakopee, the team expertly navigated SWPPP challenges, complex phasing, and utility transitions, ensuring minimal disruption during racing season while enhancing Canterbury’s facilities and the equine community’s experience. These upgrades improve functionality, comfort, and aesthetics, ensuring a positive experience for the nearly 1,000 horsepersons and 1,100 racehorses that call the property home each summer.
